The Health Information Exchange Accreditation Program (HIEAP) assesses your health information and oversight for meeting healthcare reform and privacy and security regulations. Our accreditation program also focuses on technical performance, business processes, and resource management. In the process of a thorough, objective evaluation, your organization will discover ways to improve efficiency, elevate the quality of service, and keep up to date with current marketplace trends.
Building trust is critical to the success of any Health Information Exchange / Health Information Organization, and this accreditation program provides recognized third-party oversight for enhancing trust throughout your healthcare community.
To begin the application process, please complete the application form through our website. The draft criteria are located on the criteria page.
*We offer two accreditation programs related to Health Information Exchanges.
1.) The Health Information Exchange Accreditation Program is designed for the exchanges themselves;
2.) The Outsourced Services Accreditation Program for Health Information Exchanges (OSAP-HIE) is for Health Information Exchange technology providers. While the programs are similar, the first includes criteria related to their governance structure, how they administer their Health Information Exchange to a region or community, Health Information Exchange-specific government requirements, etc.
